EOR ETC’s RSSS Technology Expands Into the Permian Basin
EOR ETC’s enhanced oil recovery technology is featured in the June 2026 issue of Journal of Petroleum Technology in an article titled “Novel Gas-/Liquid-Coinjection EOR Process Enters the Permian.”
The article highlights EOR ETC’s patented Rapid Switched Stacked Slugs (RSSS) process, which uses a combination of produced water and natural gas to achieve high bottomhole injection pressures while operating at relatively low surface pressures. The technology has been successfully applied in the Bakken and Niobrara basins and has recently been implemented in the Midland Basin of the Permian.
The JPT article also reviews field results from an early Bakken pilot, where the process achieved a calculated gas-utilization factor of 3.85 Mscf per barrel of incremental oil and demonstrated production increases in both the injection well and adjacent wells.
The RSSS process is designed to provide operators with a lower-pressure approach to gas-injection EOR while reducing compression requirements and associated greenhouse-gas impact compared with conventional high-pressure gas injection.
